What’s another way to say this is an update?

Dare I say my writing is “heating up”? That sounds pretentious and also like I need to knock on wood… Well, I’m going to allow it, and I’m not superstitious (I simply assume the worst always…haha!).

The last couple months have been fairly filled with good news. Five more story acceptances, including a couple I am REALLY excited about (I’m still excited about the rest, obviously). In fact, one will even be my first “professional” sale – an exciting flash anthology called Campfire Macabre coming in 2021 from Cemetery Gates Media (pictured above). Isn’t that cover pretty killer??

I have no real idea how this compares to others, and I don’t care. Comparing or, God forbid, “competing” with other authors is silly. I only need to compete with myself and focus on getting better.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still painfully aware of when things “don’t go well” – it’s called everything prior to these last handful of months. I also know how up and down this business gets. So, I’m not going to sit here and assume I’ve got some stellar writing career ahead of me. BUT, I will take the time to celebrate the “wins” and feel proud of what I’ve accomplished (so long as I keep the momentum moving forward).

I’ve got a few stories officially out in the wild these days, so keep an eye out and give ’em a read, if you’re so inclined. I’ll do my best to keep my “Short Fiction” page updated, too.

Stay safe, stay sane, and read horror.
